Attending live performances
I strongly encourage students of all levels to attend recitals and concerts. Listening to live music is a very different experience from listening to recordings. There is so much you can learn from watching and hearing professional musicians play their instruments! Residents of the Cleveland metropolitan area are spoiled with the highest quality classical music performances in a variety of venues! You can hear the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall in University Circle and, during the summer months, at the Blossom Music Center. Lovers of Baroque music can attend performances by Apollo’s Fire, the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra. Students and Faculty along with guest artists present outstanding FREE RECITALS AND CONCERTS at The Cleveland Institute of Music. If you are willing to drive a bit more, the Canton Symphony Orchestra and Akron Symphony Orchestra both have concert series that feature the great orchestral repertoire.
