My daughter is beginning her third year at The Violin Studio, with Caroline. We like the ways in which Caroline communicates her ideas to her students. She focuses on details of technique with clarity and helpful suggestions for improvement. When discussing interpretation, Caroline is creative and colorful, describing aesthetic concepts in metaphors that express the feeling she wants her students to understand. When one method of teaching doesn’t connect with a student, she is able to explain a concept in different terms, until the student understands. Caroline is flexible, yet strict and disciplined. Her sense of humor and obvious joy in the creation of music inspires her students to want to do their best. The recitals she plans twice each year are a definite plus. They give the students a very professional and rewarding experience, and a chance for students, parents, and guests to feel a sense of pride in accomplishment.
